As part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness of and in support of rhino conservation and the ranger teams on the frontline against escalating wildlife crime, I am thrilled to announce that my portfolio of images depicting the dehorning of Southern White Rhino at the Phinda Game Reserve in South Africa has been selected as Highly Honoured in the "Conservation Story” category of the Windland Smith Rice International Awards. It will be displayed in this fall’s Smithsonian Exhibition in Washington, USA and will published in the 2018 Fall/Winter Special Collectors’ Edition of Nature's Best Photography magazine, going to press next month.
The showcasing of these images not only helps bring global awareness to the plight that rhino populations are facing as a result of intensive organised poaching, but also showcases the incredible effort and dedication that conservationists are putting into conserving this iconic species of Africa. Phinda Private Game Reserve in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa are doing absolutely incredible work in protecting their rhino populations from poaching and really need to be commended and supported
