We rightly place tremendous value over the rhino that is under such a tremendous onslaught from poaching for their horns and we will supposedly do our upmost to protect them. Yet, we often fail to properly train, equip and look after the very ranger teams that are the first line of defense for these embattled animals.
The value of the animal is actually related to the input given to the ranger teams so that they will have the full willingness to tackle the life-risking hardships to protect Africa’s iconic wildlife and wild places. We HAVE to ensure that these rangers have our fullest support, are well-trained, well-equipped and that there is a proper ranger well-being program in place for them!
